Competition on Japanese literature calls for entries

The Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam and the Inoue Yasushi Memorial Foundation have recently launched the fourth edition of Inoue Yasushi Awards to honour theses on Japanese literature.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange inVietnam and the Inoue Yasushi Memorial Foundation have recently launched thefourth edition of Inoue Yasushi Awards to honour theses on Japanese literature.

Vietnamesepostgraduates and students are encouraged to send in their theses, written fromMay 2018, to the foundation’s headquarters at 27 Quang Trung street, Hanoi’s HoanKiem district.

The centre willreceive entries from now until the end of November 30. The awards ceremony isexpected to be held in February 2021.

Inoue Yasushi is oneof Japan’s most prolific writers today, and started relatively late as anovelist.

In 2018, lecturer PhanThu Van from the Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University won the first prize atthe third Inoue Yasushi Awards for her thesis on two novels by Japanese writersInoue Yasushi and Kazuo Ishiguro./.

ౠ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
