Violinist Mirijam Contzen from Germany will play solo violin pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Eugene Ysaye and Paul Hindemith while the lights are off, allowing the audience to experience the music and its subtleties more intensely, without the distractions of visual impressions.
This prelude will kick off a new concert series from the Hanoi Goethe Institute, which will present audiences with extraordinary listening experiences.
Contzen's solos represent virtuosi styles, in particular, and feature rarely performed pieces of classical music: sonatas from Eugene Ysaye and Paul Hindemith and a Partita from Johann Sebastian Bach.
Contzen is a famous contemporary artist in Germany. She achieved global fame at the age of 16 when she won the International Tibor Varga Violin Competition. Today, she works with the most famous orchestras around the world.
