Conference introduces RoK tourism in Nghe An

A conference was held in the central province of Nghe An on May 18 to introduce the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s tourism and air routes to the RoK, drawing representatives of over 40 travel firms from Nghe and neighbouring Ha Tinh province.

Nghe An (VNA)– A conference was held in the central province of Nghe An on May 18 to introducethe Republic of Korea (RoK)’s tourism and air routes to the RoK, drawing representativesof over 40 travel firms from Nghe and neighbouring Ha Tinh province.

The event, jointly heldby the RoK Tourism Organisation in Vietnam and the Department of Tourism of thecentral province of Nghe An, aimed to provide information of diverse tourismservices and products suitable to the demand of local customers.

In the recent twoyears, thousands of Nghe An tourists have chosen the RoK to travel. This year,a cooperation programme will be held from June to December between the RoK andthe Vietnam Society of Travel in Nghe An with the supply of various tourismproducts.

According to the RoKTourism Organisation in Vietnam, in 2017, the Eastern Asian country welcomedabout 330,000 Vietnamese tourists.

Meanwhile, Vietnam servedmore than 2 million Korean visitors in the year, a surge of 56.4 percentyear-on-year. In January this year, 316,300 Korean tourists visited Vietnam, ayear-on-year jump of 84 percent.

Currently, there aremore than 112,200 Vietnamese people living in the Republic of Korea, whileabout 150,000 Koreans are living in Vietnam.-VNA
