Hanoi (VNA) –Fashion designer Nguyen Cong Tri has been honoured as one of the threeoutstanding designers in US fashion by Hollywood Reporter magazine.
Three designers that are favoured by Hollywood’s red carpets are Singapore-basedChelsea Scott-Blackhaill, Vietnam-based Nguyen Cong Tri and Lagos-based MaiAtafo.
“Before launchinghis label in 2009, self-taught designer Nguyen Cong Tri already was a favouriteof Vietnam’s celebrities. His entrée stateside arrived when Rihanna and KatyPerry embraced his inventive silhouettes, dramatic draping and intricatecutouts, with Perry enlisting Nguyen to create costumes for her 2017 Witnesstour,” wrote Hollywood Reporter.
Tri debuted atNew York Fashion Week in January 2019. Amonth later, Kate Bosworth wore a ripped-from-the-runway canary yellow andcrystal-embellished gown to the Vanity Fair Oscar party, it said.

Fifteen fashion designers across the country will gather to showcase their newest collections of ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) during a fashion show taking place tonight at Thai Hoc yard in the Temple of Literature in Hanoi.
An art project featuring typical women’s costumes during the Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945) was created during the social distancing period by Nguyen Quoc Tri, a.k.a Kris Nguyen, an illustrator in Binh Thanh district in Ho Chi Minh City.
