Congress votes on number of Party Central Committee members

Hanoi (VNA) - The 13th National Party Congress discussed and voted toapprove the number of Party Central Committee members being 200, at a plenarysession in Hanoi on January 28, according to the press release on the workingday of the congress.
Politburomember and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue, on behalf ofthe Presidium, presided over the meeting in the morning, which continued to mullover the submitted draft documents.
Thirteendelegates raised their ideas.
As of thethird working day, there had been 36 ideas raised at plenary sessions and 788others raised in groups.
Also in themorning, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the PartyCentral Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, and member of thecongress’s Secretary Group Nguyen Hong Dien reported that the congress had receivedcongratulatory letters and messages from another 83 parties, organisations, andinternational friends. As of January 26, the number of congratulatory letters andmessages totalled 298.
In theafternoon, participating delegates sat down to discuss the personnel work ofthe 13th Party Central Committee under the chair of Tran Quoc Vuong,Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’sSecretariat.
Pham MinhChinh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and head ofthe committee’s Organisation Commission, on behalf of the Presidium, presented the12th Party Central Committee’s report on the 13th-tenure PartyCentral Committee’s personnel work.
Thecongress discussed and voted for the number of committee members to be 200,including 180 official and 20 alternative members.
Thedelegates then continued discussions in groups.

Documents submitted to the 13th National Party Congress were debated at a plenary session in Hanoi on January 27, according to the press release on the third working day of the Congress.
Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha on January 27 emphasised the importance of a circular economy while Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Nguyen Thi Hong noted the need to stay persistent in the target of keeping inflation under control and maintaining macro-economic stability.
