Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) Summit2018 has begun in Thailand with the aim of preventing terrorism worldwide.
During his speech at the opening of the summit in Bangkok, Deputy PrimeMinister Mr. Wissanu Krea-ngam said that the global community needs to worktogether to prevent terrorism financing, money-laundering and technologicalcrimes effectively.
More than 350 people from around the world, representing the public and privatesectors, are participating in the summit which is being held at Royal OrchidSheraton Hotel & Towers. Mr. Wissanu said Thailand has enacted theTerrorism and Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction Financing Act andthe Royal Decree on the Digital Asset Businesses B.E. 2561 to tackle suchillegal activities.
He added that, in order to achieve the goals of this year’s summit, innovation,leadership and global cooperation are needed. The Deputy Prime Minister alsoexpressed his belief that the CTF Summit 2018 symbolises an important steptowards positive changes in ASEAN and the Asia Pacific region. – NNT/VNA
