Under the plan, the city will pilot avariety of night-time economic activities in two phases.
For 2023, the city plans to build amusical water park in the Da Lat Flower Garden, a 900m-long food streetalong Tran Le street and Hoang Van Thu lake, and organise night-time activitiesacross inner-city streets near the Da Lat night market and Lam Vien square.
For the 2023-2030 period, it is set toconvert a 1.6km section of Tran Quoc Toan street into a pedestrianstreet where locals and tourists can enjoy art performances and go shopping.The city during this period will also build a new night market near Anh Sang(Light) park that is expected to be more modern and better organised than theexisting one along Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street.
The city will set up a night-timeeconomic complex featuring entertainment activities, casino services,shophouses and clubhouses in the 2023-2030.
To develop the night-time economy inthe years to come, the provincial administration said it will call on investors toset up an entertainment area in the basement of the Da Lat golf club on TranQuoc Toan street.
This area will offer dining, bar,cinema and game services to visitors in case activities on the pedestrianstreet are closed on rainy days.
The night-time economy is expected to help easetraffic congestion in the city centre, increase the income of local people andthereby improve their livelihoods, the city’s government said, adding that itwill take into account possible risks and negative impacts of the night-timeeconomy model to ensure public safety and security.
Situated on a plateau around 1,500metres above sea level, Da Lat enjoys year-round cool weather that is incontrast to Vietnam’s tropical climate.
As one of Vietnam’s biggestflower-growing regions, producing around 3 billion flower cuts every year, the cityis a must-visit destination for flower lovers around the world.
