Da Nang: Ceramic mosaics to liven up APEC 2017 leaders’ week

An art project to decorate a 360-metre sea dyke wall with ceramic mosaics is underway in the central city of Da Nang to welcome the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Week.

Hanoi (VNA) –🌳 An art project to decorate a 360-metre sea dyke wall withceramic mosaics is underway in the central city of Da Nang to welcome the Asia-PacificEconomic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Week.

The mosaics,inspired by drawings by young artists and children, feature the beauty of DaNang’s landscapes and local people’s lives. The materialsfor the mosaics were transported from the pottery villages of Bat Trang inHanoi and Thanh Ha in nearby Hoi An city. TheAPEC Economic Leaders’ Week will bring together leaders and some 10,000delegates from 21 APEC member economies. Established in 1989, APEC comprises 21 economies,namely Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia,Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea,Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the UnitedStates, and Vietnam. Vietnam joined APEC in 1998, and last hostedthe APEC Year in 2006.-VNA

🦹 Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee
