Da Nang (VNA) –The Da Nang ParaglidingOpen 2017, themed “Flying over Tien Sa”, kicked off in the central coastal cityof Da Nang on June 24.
Organised by the municipal Department of Cultureand Sports, the race attracted 100 fliers from clubs nationwide and from theRepublic of Korea, South Africa, the US, the UK, Australia, and Laos.
The fliers competed in accurate landing categoryfor single and duo. They took off at Son Tra Peninsula, regarded as one of themost spectacular flying sites in Vietnam.
The opening ceremony featured a specialparamotor performance, which also entertained tourists coming for the “DaNang - Summer Rendezvous” programme and Da Nang InternationalFireworks Festival 2017.
Paragliding has become a popular adrenalin sportin Vietnam, with increasing number of members joining clubs in Hanoi, Nha Trangand races in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai and Da Nang.-VNA
An international conference on golf tourism was held in Da Nang city by the International Association of Golf Tourism Operators (IAGTO) and the city Department of Tourism on May 8.
