Da Nang speeds up preparations for 13th ASEAN School Game

The central city of Da Nang – the host of the 13th ASEAN School Games has been speeding up its preparations for the event slated from May 31 to June 9, according to the Sports Authority of Vietnam.

Hanoi (VNA) –The central city of Da Nang – the host of the 13th ASEAN School Games has beenspeeding up its preparations for the event slated fromMay 31 to June 9, according to the Sports Authority of Vietnam.

The city, theMinistry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Culture, Sports andTourism, the Vietnam School Sports Association, and the Sports Authority ofVietnam are hastening preparations for the organisation of the games.

Vice Chairman of the Da Nang municipal People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong said that the city is making efforts toensure the best possible conditions for sports delegations to stay and participate incompetitions.

He hoped that athletes,coaches, and members of sports delegations will have great experiences in thecity.

Sports delegations fromten countries are expected to attend the games which include six sports, namelyathletics, swimming, basketball, badminton, Pencak Silat, and Vovinam. This isthe first time, Vovinam (Vietnamese traditional martial arts) has been includedin the ASEAN School Games.

🐭 First launched in 2009,the annual sports event for students in Southeast Asia provides opportunitiesfor them to exchange, and integrate. It’s also an opportunity for Vietnam tostrengthen solidarity, and friendship with countries in the region as well aspromote its culture, fair play, and hospitality.
