Dak Lak leaders extend X-mas greetings to religious dignitaries

Dak Lak (VNA) – The People’s Committee of theCentral Highlands province of Dak Lak held a gathering to extend Christmasgreetings to local religious dignitaries on December 13.

At the event, the province’s officials briefed thedignitaries on the local socio-economic situation in 2018. Accordingly, theprovince fulfilled 17 out of 18 goals set for the year, with the economygrowing 7.82 percent, State budget collection hitting 5.5 trillion VND (237.12million USD), and income per capita reaching 41.1 million VND (1,772 USD).

Local social welfare policies were carried out synchronouslyand business climate was improved.

Dak Lak is home to 610,000 religious followers, accountingfor 32 percent of the province’s population. Of the total, there are over217,000 Catholics and 193,000 Protestants. Religious activities have takenplace in line with the law, with many religious units actively joining localsocial, health, educational, and charity work.

At the gathering, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Vo Van Canh wished the dignitaries and followers a merry Christmasand a happy New Year.

He asked the religious community to promote theirsolidarity, active participation in social campaigns, and respect for theParty’s and Government’s policies and laws.

The official hoped the group will make further contributionsto the development of Dak Lak.-VNA
