Contracts worth 2 billion USD are expected to be signed between Vietnamese andinternational partners during the first Vietnam Travel & Tourism Summit.

The event will take place at theIntercontinental Landmark72 Hotel in Hanoi from December 5-6 in the frameworkof the Vietnam Economic Forum (ViEF) 2018. It is expected to attract 1,500guests including managers, business operators, billionaires and experts.

The summit will be  hostedby the Private Sector Development Committee (PSD), the Ministry of Culture,Sports and Tourism (MCST), the Vietnam Tourism Advisory Board (TAB), andVnExpress newspaper.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc willmoderate the sessions and witness the signing ceremonies between Vietnamese andinternational partners.

It is expected that Hanoi willsign a contract with CNN to produce films promoting Vietnamese tourism, and Malaysia’sAirAsia will cooperate with Vietnamese enterprise to develop low cost airlineservices in Vietnam.

The summit will offeropportunities for domestic and foreign businesses to learn about Vietnam’sstrategies to develop tourism, as well as the challenges facing the nationaltourism industry.

It will include two key sessions titled PotentialOpportunities and Strategic Planning for Sustainable Development Efficiency andMaking Tourism a Spearhead Economic Sector of Vietnam, with reports andpresentations delivered by prominent figures from TAB, Air Asia, World TourismOrganization (UNWTO), Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and others.

The delegates will discussvarious issues such as restructuring and developing Vietnamese tourism in ahigh-quality and sustainable manner; promoting national tourism; improving visapolicies to attract high-quality tourists; enhancing tourism management capacity;upgrading the quality of human resources; attracting foreign investment intourism; and applying high technology in tourism development and management.
