Hanoi (VNA) – The United Left Movement (MIU) Party of the Dominican Republic has held a flower-laying ceremony at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh within the square bearing his name in the city of Santo Domingo Este, Santo Domingo province, to celebrate the 135th birth anniversary of the late leader of the Vietnamese revolution.

The solemn ceremony, presided over by MIU General Secretary Miguel Mejía, featured the laying of flowers, followed by the national anthems of the Dominican Republic and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, as well as the traditional song of the MIU Party.

Rosalind Barrous, Coordinator of the Ho Chi Minh Committee in Santo Domingo province, delivered a commemorative address commemorating the Vietnamese leader, calling the man the founder of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and one of the preeminent leaders in the 20th century.

The statement underlined that Ho Chi Minh’s thought retains its enduring value in today’s ongoing struggles for freedom and social equality, continuing to inspire peoples around the world in their pursuit of peace and justice.

The MIU Party's official affirmed that studying his thought remains the most meaningful way to follow the path he laid out – the one rooted in patriotism, international solidarity, and the aspiration to liberate humanity.

The ceremony concluded with resounding slogans hꦅonouring solidarity and peace, reflecting the steadfast friendship between the two countries' people and a shared commitment to making efforts for a fairer, more progressive world./.
