Accordingly, 800 sets of60-minute DVD entitled “The Art of Don ca tai tu music and songs ofsouthern Vietnam ” in Vietnamese and English version will becompleted within this month.
In addition, a CD willbe released to introduce the performance of popular artists of Don catai tu clubs and groups from southern cities and provinces.
Leaflets and books on Don ca tai tu’s history, culture and music willalso be published in Vietnamese, English and French to help educatingthe public about this unique traditional music genre.
Don ca tai tu has been recognised as part of the national intangiblecultural heritage. Vietnam has also applied to the UN Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) for recognition of themusic as an intangible cultural heritage of humankind.-VNA
The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.
