Hanoi(VNA) – The shooting of a missile over Japan by the Democratic Republic ofKorea (DPRK) on August 29 is a serious violation of United Nations Security Councilrelated resolutions and spikes tensions in the region, Spokeswoman of the ForeignMinistry Le Thi Thu Hang has said.
“Vietnam is deeplyconcerned about the DPRK’s missile launch over Japan,” Hang said on August 31in reply to reporters’ queries on the DPRK’s move.
“Vietnam consistentlysupports all efforts to step up dialogues and maintain peace and stability inthe Korean peninsula,” the spokeswoman said.
“Vietnam also calls on the sides concerned to stringently comply with relatedresolutions of the UN Security Council and take constructive and pragmatic actionsto contribute to maintaining peace, security and stability in the region andthe world,” she concluded.-VNA
