European film festival comes to Da Nang

Thirteen movies from European countries will delight movie lovers in Da Nang city from May 18-27, as part of “Europe Days 2012”.

Held for the first time in 2000 by the Delegation of the European Unionto Vietnam and the Embassies of EU member states, the European FilmFestival is recognised as one of the most successful multiculturalevents in Vietnam .

The festival gathers newfilms with diverse genres from European countries, including Denmark ,France , the Czech Republic , Greece , Germany , Hungary ,Britain , Poland , Spain and Holland . It kicks off with a Danishfilm, “In a better world” which won Oscar and Golden Globe Awards forthe best foreign film in 2011.

This year’s festivalalso features six short films for children, reflecting the diversecultures and characteristics of European countries.

Free tickets for the festival can be collected from Le Do Cinema at 46Tran Phu street and Da Nang Cinema and Film Distribution Centre at68 Tran Phu street .

Similar film festivals opened in Hanoi on May 16, and Ho Chi Minh City on May 17./.

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
