Beijing (VNA) – Paintingscapturing Vietnamese and Chinese folk culture and traditional New Year (Tet) festivalare on display in Beijing, China, starting from January 8.

The exhibition is jointly organisedby Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) and China’sMinistry of Culture.

The opening ceremony was attended by MoCSTMinister Nguyen Ngoc Thien, who is on an official visit to the country,Vietnamese Ambassador to China Dang Minh Khoi, Chinese cultural officials, amongothers.

Addressing the event ceremony,Director of the MoCST’s International Cooperation Department Nguyen Trung Khanhsaid the event is expected to raise the awareness among Vietnamese and Chinesepeople of the significance of the biggest traditional festival of the twonations.

Through the event, visitors will seethe similarities in cultural and historical values of Vietnam and China, whichhave helped consolidate the growing friendship between the two nations, Khanhsaid.
