Hanoi (VNA) – An exhibition introducing a collection of signatures andautographs of President Ho Chi Minh in the 1945-1969 period opened at thePresidential Palace in Hanoi on May 17 on the occasion of the late leader’s 133rd birth anniversary (May 19, 1890-2023).
Do Hoang Linh, Deputy Director in charge of the President HoChi Minh relic site at the Presidential Palace, said that on display are morethan 200 original orders and decrees, selected from more than 1,400archived documents with autographs, and nearly 80 file photos illustrating thehistorical period from 1945 to 1969, during which Ho Chi Minh served as thehead of State.
The exhibition is divided into two parts. The first includesphotos and documents in the 1945-1954 period when President Ho Chi Minh foundedthe Democratic Republic of Vietnam, built the people's administration system,pursued diplomatic solutions to protect revolutionary achievements, andled the long-term resistance war against French colonialists (1945-1954). Meanwhile,the second introduces photos and documents in the 1954-1969 period when he ledthe process of building socialism and protecting the North, and at the sametime conducting the national liberation revolution in the South, and expandingdiplomatic relations to mobilise support and help of the internationalcommunity.
Dang Thanh Tung, Director of the State Archives and Records Department, saidthat many decrees with handwritten autographs or signatures of President Ho ChiMinh showcased this time are evidence of his ingenious and wiseleadership role in the early years of building the administration, and during theresistance war to safeguard national independence such as the President's appealfor national resistance on December 19, 1946, and his writings calling for nationalpatriotic emulation in 1948./.
