Exhibition to be held to honour Vietnam’s heritage, handicrafts

An exhibition featuring Vietnam’s cultural and landscape heritage and traditional handicraft products will be held in the northern province of Ninh Binh from December 17-24, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on November 3.

Hanoi (VNA) - An exhibition featuring Vietnam’s cultural andlandscape heritage and traditional handicraft products will be held in thenorthern province of Ninh Binh from December 17-24, the Ministry of Culture,Sports and Tourism announced on November 3.

This is an activity within the framework of the Visit VietnamYear 2021- Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh, jointly organised by the ministry and the People'sCommittee of Ninh Binh province.

The exhibition is expected to help introduce, promote and honourcultural values, relic sites and landscapes of Vietnam, affirming cultural andtourism development potential among localities, and contributing to creating adriving force to strongly attract resources for tourism development andimproving the image of the Vietnamese country and people.

It will also introduce traditional handicraft products,encourage artisans to create more products, promote potential of tourismrelated to trade villages, and expand the relationship between trade villages,producers and tourists.

The exhibition will feature UNESCO-recognised world heritagesites and items, Biosphere Reserves, and Global Geoparks in Vietnam. It willalso introduce outstanding products of many artisans from trade villages suchas Phu Dieu pottery (Hai Phong); Dinh Cong silver carving, Ngu Xa bronzecasting, Van Phuc silk (Hanoi); Thanh Tien paper flowers (Thua Thien - Hue).

Various activities will be held within the framework of theexhibition./.

ꦛ Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
