Hanoi(VNA) – Energy production from solid waste in urban areas is forecast toincrease by between 10-16 percent in Vietnam, heard a workshop in Hanoi onAugust 18.
As part of arenewable energy and energy efficiency project jointly held by the GeneralDirectorate of Energy under the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, and theGerman Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the workshop aimed to seek expertisefor the development of grid-tied power based on solid waste in Vietnam,
Participants saidwaste-to-energy production is becoming a useful solution in the world, and inVietnam, environmental issues and demand for land in urban areas also lead toan urgent need for the waste-to-energy solution, thus helping to ensure energysecurity.
