Famous UK films to be screened in Vietnam

Vietnamese movie lovers in major cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Hue and Danang will have a chance to enjoy famous films during a UK film festival 2012 from Aug. 29 – Sept. 11.
Vietnamese movie lovers in major cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, HaiPhong, Hue and Danang will have a chance to enjoy famous films during aUK film festival 2012 from Aug. 29 – Sept. 11.

Being organised by the British Council, the event entitled “Londoncalling” will feature a range of film genres, from history, psychology,action, comedy to thriller.

They include “Chiectau ngam vang” (Yellow Submarine), “Yeu thuc su ” (Love actually), “Nu hoang” (The Queen), “San xuat tai Dagenham” (Made in Dagenham), “Bao ve To quoc” (Defence of the Realm) and Orlando .

Most of them are prize-winners or nominees at prestigious filmfestivals such as Oscar, Bafta, Grammy and Golden Globe Awards.

Tickets will be distributed free at the British Council in Hanoi from August 20.-VNA

Exhibition features President Ho Chi Minh as founder of Vietnam’s revolutiona♐ry press

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
