Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration (VIWA) has announced that from October 12, fees and charges for transporting on the Vietnam-Cambodia waterway route are paid according the tonnage rates when vehicles entering and leaving seaports.

According to provisions of Article 4, Circular No.248/2016/TT-BT dated November 11, 2016 by the Minister of Finance prescribing maritime fees and charges, the new fee for vehicles on the route is 165 VND per tonne.

The minimum entry and exit fees are 5,000 and 50,000 VND per trip, based on the type of total tonnage and the number of passenger seats.

The new fees are down by over 10-11 times compared to those from March 1, 2020 to October 11, 2021 as maritime fees are waived, thus easing burden on enterprises.

🧔 The Vietnam-Cambodia waterway transport route opened under the Waterway Transport Agreement signed by Vietnam and Cambodia in 2009 that took effect from January 20, 2011 and the Annex amending the Agreement on February 26, 2019, in order to facilitate maritime trade between the two countries./.
