Vietnam's top female player Vu Thi Trang jumped from 62 to 53 in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Ranking released on October 22.
Trang's bump up the rankings follows her success at the Chinese Taipei Grand Prix 2015 where she reached the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Tien Minh was stopped in the second round of the tournament, forcing him down to 41st from 35th.
In the men's BWF rankings, Chen Long of China remains top, followed by Denmark's Jan O Jorgensen and China's Lin Dan.
On the women's side, Carolina Marin of Spain ranks first, followed by Saina Nehwal of India and the Republic of Korea's Sung Ji Hyun.-VNA
Vietnamese badminton aces Nguyen Tien Minh and Vu Thi Trang will compete at the TOTAL Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships 2015, taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia from August 10-16.
Vu Thi Trang won the women's singles title of the 2015 White Nights, an international badminton challenge that wrapped up at Sporthall Arena in Gatchina, Russia, on July 5.
