The festival opened with an incense and flower offering ceremony inmemory of King Quang Trung-Nguyen Hue and Tay Son soldiers.
A series of cultural, artistic and sports activities and martial artperformances have taken place from January 26-27, or the fourth andfifth days of the first lunar month.

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
