HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City’s residents will have thechance to enjoy the cuisine and culture of all five continents at a festival tobe held at Hoa Lu Stadium in District 1 from October 5 to 8.
The inaugural Five Continents Food Festival-World Food will see a display offood and drinks, including vegetables, seafood and others. Visitors can learn cooking from famous chefs. There will be a contest amongcooks and the other among visitors.
Street magic and entertainment shows such as Japanese sword performances, Koreanand Indian traditional dances and others will be performed.
More than 15 Vietnamese singers including Nhat Kim Anh, Ho Viet Trung, and LamHung will entertain audiences.
The event is expected to attract nearly 170 companies who will put up more than300 stalls to showcase their food processing products and technologies.
It will offer foreign and local companies a chance to tie up for the productionand trade of food products.
Many tourist destinations will be showcased.
A charity programme called Happy Dishes- Send Love to disadvantaged people inthe city and its neighbouring provinces will be held.
The festival will be organised by the city-based Vietnam Industry and TradeInformation Centre in cooperation with YAH Solution Co.Ltd.-VNA
The crowds of visitors around booths selling Vietnamese food at the Embassies Food and Culture Festival in Prague on May 13 reflected the increasing popularity of the Southeast Asian country’s cuisine.
Several foreign firms have recently acquired stakes in Vietnamese food processing enterprises, showing the local food industry’s increasing attractiveness.

This marks the first time Vietnam has hosted a continental-level Muay event which will feature competitions across 28 weight categories in combat and eight performance categories.
Coming to the Vietnamese booth, visitors had the chance to take part in a bamboo dance, a workshop on painting woven bamboo or rattan, or quizzes about Vietnam.
