Film on late President’s activities in Thailand to be screened

The screening of “Thau Chin o Xiem” (Thau Chin in Thailand) depicting the time late President Ho Chi Minh spent in Thailand will kick off a film week celebrating the 85 th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The screening of “Thau Chin o Xiem” (Thau Chin in Thailand) depictingthe time late President Ho Chi Minh spent in Thailand will kick off afilm week celebrating the 85 th founding anniversary of the CommunistParty of Vietnam.

The 100-minute film, shot by the Vietnam CinemaAssociation, features revolutionary activities undertaken the latePresident, who was at the time known under the name Nguyen Ai Quoc, inThailand during 1928-1929.

The film week, whichwill run from January 30 to February 15 nationwide by the CinematographyDepartment under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism,contributes to further popularising the nation’s history, culture aswell as national sovereign and territorial integrity, said Ngo PhuongLan, head of the Department.

On this occasion, “Nguoi TinhNguyen” (The Volunteers) will be also screened, exclusively for ethnicminority people in far-flung areas and islands.

The opening ceremonies will be held in Hanoi on January 30 and the northern province of Cao Bang on February 2.-VNA
