Hanoi (VNA) – The HealthMinistry and General Office for Population- Family Planning have launched anonline photo competition on the role of senior citizens in response to InternationalDay for Old Persons (October 1) and the Action Month for the VietnameseElderly.
The contest is set to run from October 2 to31, with awards to be announced and presented between November 5 and 10.
All Vietnamese nationals and foreignersliving in Vietnam are eligible to send their entries to the email address nguoicaotuoi2017@cpcs.vn. Eachperson can submit a maximum of 3 entries, with each entry not exceeding 7photos.
Submitted photos need to have titles andcaptions having less than 200 words in Vietnamese. Their contents arerecommended to focus on promoting the role of the elderly and communalassistance toward the group.
Vietnam has about 10.1 million seniorcitizens, accounting for some 11 percent of the population. The figures areexpected to rise to 19 million people and 17 percent by 2030, and 28 millionpeople and 25 percent in 2050.-VNA
