Dong Thap (VNA) – The first-ever Sa Dec Flower - Ornamental Festival 2023, themed "Love of Land - Love of Flowers", will take place in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap from December 30, 2023 to January 5, 2024.

The event aims to honour the art of cultivating flowers and ornamental plants in Sa Dec city, highlighting the economic value of floral and ornamental products. It seeks to stimulate the growth of the flower and ornamental industry in combination with agricultural tourism development and the national One Commune, One Product (OCOP) programme.

Recently, the Dong Thap news portal officially launched a dedicated page for the festival at //dongthap.gov.vn.

It includes key sections such as the festival news, press releases, media coverage, organising board along with competitions, images, videos, and information about Sa Dec flowers and ornamental plants, including the history and tourist attractions of the flower village.

On this occasion, the provincial Trade, Tourism and Investment Promotion Centre rolled out four new experience tours catering to tourists. These include the "In the Footsteps of the Lover" tour with two days and one night featuring visits to the "Huynh Thuy Le ancient house", Sa Dec flower village, Sa Dec city square, Xeo Quit relic in Cao Lanh district, Go Thap relic, and Go Thap village market in Thap Muoi district.

The "Sa Dec Love of Land – Love of Flowers " tour, spanning two days and one night, includes explorations of the Sa Dec flower village, the Sa Dec city square, the southern cultural tourism area in Lap Vo district, Nguyen Sinh Sac relic site, and Tan Thuan Dong village market in Cao Lanh city.

🔜 The one-day tour "Exploring the Kingdom of Sa Dec flowers – Journey of Green Heritage" encompasses stops at the Sa Dec flower village, the Sa Dec city square, the Huynh Thuy Le ancient house, Kien An Cung pagoda, Lai Vung pink grapefruit orchard, and Dinh Yen traditional mat market in Lap Vo district.

The two-days and one-night tour “Sa Dec - Buddhist cultural space amid ancient urban landscape" takes visitors to the Sa Dec flower village, the Sa Dec city square, the Huynh Thuy Le ancient house, as well as various pagodas and ancient houses in Sa Dec city, and the southern cultural tourism area. The tour packages are designed to integrate agricultural experiences, traditional handicraft villages, and distinctive cultural heritages in several districts and cities in the province, promising to offer visitors a chance to explore tranquil countryside villages, discover century-old traditional craft villages, or immerse themselves in historical landmarks that bear the imprint of time./.
