First Shopee co-branded credit card launched

E-commerce platform Shopee, VPBank and Visa have launched their first co-branded credit card with an eye on the fast-growing online market.

HCMCity (VNS/VNA) - E-commerce platform Shopee, VPBank and Visa havelaunched their first co-branded credit card with an eye on thefast-growing online market. 

TranTuan Anh, CEO of Shopee Vietnam, said: “The partnership between Shopee, VPBankand Visa will strengthen our eco-system and cater to our ever-increasing anddiverse user base.

“Wehave seen rapid and constant growth in Vietnam’s e-commerce, and Shopeewants to provide shoppers and merchants with greater value, convenience andsecurity with these co-branded credit cards.”

Thecard offers privileges such as a full year of free shipping, up to10 percent cashback, online gifts, and advanced digital experiences,Shopee said in a release. 

Inthe last few months it said it had seen an increase in online shopping asVietnamese turned to e-commerce as a one-stop access to everyday needs.

Besides,the adoption of cashless payments is growing as consumers value speed andsafety, it said. 

DangTuyet Dung, Visa country manager for Vietnam and Laos, said: “As the nationcontinues to see rapid growth in online shopping, we look forward tointroducing … digital solutions that best meet the evolving lifestyles ofVietnamese consumers.”
