First Vietnam professional golf series to tee off next month

Vietnam will organise professional golf tournaments with a view to improving local players’ skills and drawing more attention to golfing facilities in the country, officials have said.

Hanoi (VNA)🐻 - Vietnam will organise professional golf tournamentswith a view to improving local players’ skills and drawing more attention togolfing facilities in the country, officials have said.

The VietnamSports Administration announced the launch of a pilot pro-golf competitioncalled Vietnam Professional Golf Association Tour (VPGA Tour). Thetour’s key aim is to give Vietnamese golf professionals the chance to sharpentheir technique, improve the level of their games and make them mentally toughin competitive situations. Thefirst VPGA season will last from August 2017 to July 2018, with four eventswith a cash prize of 50,000 each. It isexpected that 80 leading pros and 20 outstanding of Vietnam and 20 inviteeswill tee off in each event. The first tournament willbe the FLC Vietnam Masters held from September 25-October 1 at the FLC LuxurySam Son Resort in Thanh Hoa province.-VNA
