First Vietnam-RoK int’l fine arts exhibition held

The Vietnam Fine Arts Association (VFAA) and the KIRO Art Association of the Republic of Korea (RoK) held the first Vietnam-RoK international fine arts exhibition in Hanoi on March 27.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Fine Arts Association (VFAA)and the KIRO Art Association of the Republic of Korea (RoK) held the first Vietnam-RoKinternational fine arts exhibition in Hanoi on March 27.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, VFAA Chairman Tran KhanhChuong said a number of fine arts exhibitions have been held in both countriesin recent years, contributing to raising mutual understanding about fine artsbetween their people.

He added that the KIRO Art Association now includes over10,000 members who work to preserve and develop the RoK’s traditional finearts.

Chuong also hoped that ties between the VFAA and the KIROArt Association will continue to thrive in the years to come.

Chairman of the KIRO Art Association Yun Bu-nam said Koreanartists will learn more about Vietnamese culture and arts via the event. Healso took the occasion to invite Vietnamese painters to send their works to theRoK for display.

The exhibition featured 116 works by 110 artists, including76 pieces by 70 members of the KIRO Art Association and the remaining 40 byVFAA members.

They were drawn in different materials and styles,reflecting the culture and art of each country.–VNA
