Five Vietnamese destinations have been listed among 19 places in Southeast Asia that will “actually change your life” by the US’ Huffington Post newspaper.

Phu Quoc Island insouthern Kien Giang province, with its “mostly empty perfect beaches” isranked second in the list. Meanwhile, Mui Ne sand dunes in central BinhThuan province, which are described as belonging on another continentthough they are not far from Ho Chi Minh City, are in the fourth place.

The Mekong Delta, which is the largest ricebowl of Vietnam, is in the eighth place with lots of tiny villages andfloating markets to visit. Sa Pa town in the northern mountainousprovince of Lao Cai comes immediately after it, in the ninth position,for its green rice terraced fields and French colonial villas.

Cu Chi tunnels in Ho Chi Minh City, which were used during the war against US forces, are in the 18th place.

Thailand also has five destinations in the list with the northerntown of Pai in the first place. Myanmar has four, Cambodia has two andMalaysia, Singapore and Laos each has one destination in the list.-VNA
