Foreign diplomats attend 'pho' cooking class in Ho Chi Minh City
Members from foreign representative agencies in Ho Chi Minh City attended a 'pho' (noodle soup) cooking class under the guidance of chefs from the Saigon Professional Chefs Association (SPC) on November 23.

Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) - Members from foreign representative agenciܫes in Ho Chi Minh City attended a 'pho' (noodle soup) cooking class underthe guidance of chefs from the Saigon Professional Chefs Association (SPC) on November23.
Co-hosted by the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs, theInstitute of Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF), the Ho Chi Minh City Food & Beverage Association (FBA) and the SPC, the event drew leaders and staff of representative agencies from the UK, Australia, Belarus, Cambodia, Hungary, Indonesia,New Zealand, Japan, China and the International Organisation for Migration(IOM) who cooked beef, lamb and vegan 'pho'.

Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Foreign AffairsPham Tran Thanh Thao said the exchange activity, in response to Vietnam's Day ofPho on December 12, enables diplomats and their families to explore and spreadthe essence of Vietnamese culinary culture, and the secrets of making delicious 'pho' to the international community.

After completing the class, the agenciesreceived certificates and joined in a gathering to enjoy the noodle soup. They also had theopportunity to visit a display of photos and taste complimentary servings of variousdishes at the event./.
“Pho” (Vietnamese noodle soup), “bun cha” (rice vermicelli with grilled pork and fresh herbs), Quang-style noodles, and many other delights have been introduced by TasteAtlas as among the most popular noodle dishes in Vietnam.
A Vietnam Pho Festival 2023 will be held in Keyaki Namiki, Tokyo, Japan from October 7-8 as part of activities to introduce and promote Vietnamese culinary culture to international friends.

The Vietnam Pho Festival 2023 opened recently at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo, to promote Vietnamese cuisine among Japanese friends. It was the first large-scale Festival of its kind in Japan, and commemorated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
Vietnam continues to sit just behind continental powerhouses Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
