Four-time Olympic shooting champion to visit Vietnam
Four-time Olympic shooting champion Jin Jong-oh of the Republic of Korea will come to Vietnam on November 30 to meet with Vietnamese shooters, according to the Vietnam Shooting Federation (VSF).

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Four-time Olympic shooting champion Jin Jong-ohof the Republic of Korea will come to Vietnam on November 30 to meet withVietnamese shooters, according to the Vietnam Shooting Federation (VSF).
“Jin is a great shooter of the worldwith four gold medals at the Olympic Games. I followed Jin train and compete inmany years. He inspired me as well as Vietnamese Olympic champion Hoang XuanVinh,” said Nguyen Thi Nhung, General Secretary of the VSF and head coach ofthe national shooting team.
“An exchange with Jin will help Vietnamese shooters have more motivation topractice,” Nhung added.
Jin, 39, is the best shooter in the RoK history. He won Olympic gold medals in2008, 2012 and 2016. In the Olympic Games 2012, he won two golds in the men’s50m pistol and 10m air pistol.
Besides, Jin also brought home two silver medals from Olympic Games, three goldmedals in world championships and many gold medals in other internationalevents. — VNS/VNA
Vietnamese shooting team will strive to win medals at the Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018 to be held in Indonesia in August, Secretary General of the Vietnam Shooting Federation Nguyen Thi Nhung has said.
Vietnamese shooters are aiming for gold medals at the upcoming Asian Games (ASIAD 2018) in Indonesia, the Vietnam Shooting Federation said at a ceremony to send off the team in Hanoi on July 26.
Since its inception 72 years ago (1946-2018), the Vietnamese sport sector has done more than provide games for the nation to play by enhancing the country’s international integration efforts.
Eight teams will join the tournament, divided into two groups. Group A features Vietnam, the Philippines, Sichuan Club (China), and Australia, while Group B consists of Vietnam U21, Korabelka Club (Russia), Taiwan (China), and U21 Thailand.
Despite strong home support and high expectations, Vietnam were unable to overcome the defending champions, who secured their third consecutive win over Vietnam in a regional final, following previous victories in 2014 and 2023.
The event, part of Vietnam’s cultural diplomacy strategy through 2030, was jointly organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela and USM’s Faculty of International Relations. It attracted thousands of students from universities across Venezuela.
