The fourth session of the Vietnam-China Land Border Joint Committee wrapped up in Hanoi on December 5.
During the two-day session, the two sides spoke highly of theirefficient coordination over the year, agreeing to uphold the partnershipin addressing rising problems.
They were pleased to witnessthe outcomes of cooperation between the two countries’ relevant agenciesand border localities in border management and defence in accordancewith their three reached documents, namely the Protocol on BorderDemarcation and Marker Placement, the Agreement on Border ManagementRegulations and the Agreement on Border Gates and Border Gate ManagementRegulations.
The two sides also reached a consensus on openingand upgrading their border gates, building works to stabilise theborder and markers, tightening entry and exit order and cooperating incontrolling crime so as to create conditions for the land border area todevelop.
A plan for 2014’s partnership was reached, homing inon negotiations and signing an agreement on exploiting and protectingtourism resources at Ban Gioc waterfalls and another one on freenavigation at the mouth of the Bac Luan River.
The next session will be hosted by China in 2014.-VNA
