Free wifi available at Hanoi’s bus stations

Passengers waiting in the lounges of Hanoi’s three major bus stations at My Dinh, Giap Bat and Gia Lam will soon have access to free wifi international services.

The new service may be rolled out before Tet (Lunar New Year).

NguyenTung Anh, Director of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company, told DanTri (people’s Knowledge) newspaper that the company is working withinternet service providers to expedite the project.

The first busstation in Vietnam to offer free wifi service was the Mien Tay(Southwest or Mekong Delta region) Bus Station in Binh Tan district, HoChi Minh City.

Kieu Nam Thanh, Director of the Mien Tay BusStation, said that the free wifi service started on January 8 within thestation’s newly built 900sq.m hall, but he claimed that after Tet, itsreach will be expanded to cover 47,000sq.m so that the passengers onboard buses, waiting to disembark, can also connect to the internet.-VNA
