HCM City (VNA) – An exhibition featuring Frencharchitecture in Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City in the late 19th and early20th centuries opened in the southern city on November 4.

On display are about 300 documents, photos, maps and designspreserved by Vietnam andprovided by the French Consulate General in HCM City.

In his opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the municipalPeople’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen, said the exhibition is expected tocontribute to expanding the cooperation and friendship between Vietnam andFrance in the time ahead.

Vincent Floreani, French Consul General to HCM City,applauded the cultural and historical values of the exhibition, whichintroduces the cultural diversity of Saigon-HCM City - a valuable asset thatneeds to be preserved and promoted by next generations.

The event, to run for 20 days, marks the 320th anniversary of Saigon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh-HCM City (1698-2018) and the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and France.

It is also to welcome French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe on his three-day official visitto Vietnam at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.-VNA

Exhibition features Presi🐲dent Ho Chi Minh as f꧅ounder of Vietnam’s revolutionary press

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
