French Communist Party attaches importance to ties with Vietnam
The French Communist Party pays much attention to initiatives to develop its relations with the Communist Party of Vietnam, said Denis Rondepierre, Politburo member and standing member of the Secretariat of the PCF.

Paris (VNA) – The French Communist Party (PCF) pays much attention toinitiatives to develop its relations with the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV),including the organisation of regular visits and meetings, said DenisRondepierre, Politburo member and standing member of the Secretariat of thePCF.
Rondepierremade the statement while granting an interview to the Vietnam News Agency onthe occasion of General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee Nguyen PhuTrong’s official visit to France from March 25-27.
Herecalled PCF National Secretary Pierre Laurent’s Vietnam visit in 2015 duringwhich he held talks with Party General Secretary Trong.
Thetwo leaders are scheduled to meet and exchange views on a number of issuesduring Trong’s visit to France this time.
Healso informed that he and other PCF members will pay a working visit to Vietnamin late April to discuss political issues and make preparations for the thirdthematic symposium between the two parties slated for the first half of 2019 inParis.
Rondepierreaffirmed that PCF welcomes the Vietnamese Party leader’s visit to France on theoccasion of the 5th anniversary of the France-Vietnam strategicpartnership, which is expected to boost bilateral cooperation in culture,education, training, economics, defence, security and ensuring peace in theregion.
Trongis paying an official visit to France from March 25-27, during which heexpected to hold talks and meet with French leaders, representatives from theMovement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF) – the largest employer federationin France as well as young intellectuals and Vietnamese expatriates.
Particularly,the Party leader will witness the signing of a series of importationcooperation agreements between Vietnam and France.
Vietnamand France set up diplomatic ties on April 12, 1973. Overcoming ups and downsin history, over the past 45 years, especially since the establishment of thestrategic partnership in 2013, Vietnam-France relations have developed well.
Franceis an important European partner of Vietnam. It also respects Vietnam’s statureand contributions to peace, stability and development in the region and theworld. Vietnam’s membership of the ASEAN Economic Community and many free tradeagreements, including the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement forTrans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement(EVFTA), expected to take effect in the near future, will bring new cooperationchances for both countries.-VNA
The official visit to France from March 25-27 by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong aims to set up relations with the new government of France, thus further deepening the strategic partnership.

The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
