Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Union of FriendshipOrganisations (VUFO) presented the insignia “For peace and friendship amongnations” to Minister -Counsellor cum Consul General of the Republic of Korea toVietnam Park Sang-shik in Hanoi on August 16 in honour of his dedication tobilateral strategic cooperative partnership.
The event was concurrent with the 25th anniversary of thebilateral diplomatic ties.
Speaking at the event, VUFO Secretary General and VicePresident Don Tuan Phong said during his three-year tenure in Vietnam, Park activelymet Vietnamese agencies, localities and partners to learn about specificcooperative ideas regarding granting work permits to Vietnamese workers, exchangeof culture, tourism, music performances and movies between the two countries.
Park also helped with people-to-people exchange such as assistinglocalities in establishing and enhancing ties, calling for Korean investment,giving lectures on Vietnam-RoK ties to students, and urging Korean communitiesto join charity activities in poor areas.
For his part, Park said upon his return to homecountry, he will do his best to nurture friendship and solidarity between thetwo peoples.-VNA
