Garment-textile export earnings likely to hit 31 billion USD

Vietnam’s exports of textile and garment in the last two months of 2017 was estimated at 5.27 billion USD, bringing the total export revenue this year to 31 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 10.23 percent.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’sexports of textile and garment in the last two months of 2017 was estimated at5.27 billion USD, bringing the total export revenue this year to 31 billionUSD, a year-on-year increase of 10.23 percent.

According to the Ho Chi Minh CityAssociation of Garment and Textile (AGTEK), producers are busy fulfillingremaining orders of the year; many of them have received orders for the firstquarter of 2018.

This year, the industry has madeefforts to gain strong footholds in foreign markets, such as the US, EU, Japanand the Republic of Korea while significant growths have also been seen inothers like China, Russia, Cambodia, and more.

The AGTEK forecast that 2018 will bebetter for the industry than in 2017 and the industry is likely to maintain a double-digitgrowth.-VNA
