The top five winners of Vietnam's TPBank Amateur Golfers Championship will represent the country at the world championship in Turkey next month.
Do Viet Hung, Luu Xuan Loc, Nguyen Hong Ngan and Nguyen Nhu Nguyen [sk1] beat 40 competitors at the Dam Vac Golf Course in Vinh Phuc province on October 24.
"Many golfers are outstanding and I had to work hard for a win," Hung said after his victory.
"It will be more difficult in Turkey where competitors play for several days in a row. My teammates and I will have to train to build a better physique and hope that we bring some Vietnamese aspects to the world event," he said.
TP Bank will sponsor the Vietnam team to compete at the Belek Antalya City tournament that will be held from November 11 to December 5.-VNA
The Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/ Dioxin (VAVA) will open its first charity golf tournament to raise funds for the over three million victims of the chemical weapon in the country.
Vietnamese female golfer Nguyen Thao My has won a berth at the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships, to be held in Florida, the United States, from July 16 to 31.
The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
Vietnam continues to sit just behind continental powerhouses Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
