The HCMCity-native player who has Elo rating of 2706 beat R. Guerra of Spain,Elo 2442 in the round four. This victory was a good driving force for2013 blitz world champion to best C Jimenez Fidel of the hosts, Elo 2532in the next round.
The two-time Aeroflot Open champion will meet Kayden Troff, Elo 2532 in the sixth round.
Competition at the tourney is in the format of a nine-round Swiss System. The winner will receive 5,000 USD.-VNA

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
