Ha Nam (VNA) – Aceremony was held in the northern province of Ha Nam on November 30 to presentLao orders and medals to volunteer soldiers and military experts in recognitionof their contributions to Laos’ revolutionary cause.

Among those awarded, three fallensoldiers were honoured with Laos’ first-class Freedom Order, 30 individuals receivedfirst-class Victory Order, and 15 others, anti-American resistance medals.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairmanof the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Xuan Dong said he hopes therecipients will actively contributing to protecting the traditional friendshipbetween the two countries.

He noted that the locality has bolsteredcomprehensive cooperation with Laos’ northwestern province of Oudomxay in variousfields.

Laos decided to present its ordersand medals to nearly 9,000 Vietnamese soldiers in 2016.-VNA
