Hanoi  (VNA) - The 46th ‘Ha Noi Moi’ Newspaper – Run forPeace will see a number of national team members competing around Hoan KiemLake in the capital city on September 29. 

The annual event hasdrawn the registration of about 1,500 athletes, with amateur runners fromschools, universities, enterprises and others alongside professionalcompetitors as SEA Games 5,000m winner Nguyen Thi Oanh of Bac Giang andSEA Games 3,000m steeplechase bronze medallist Do Quoc Luat of the Militaryteam.

More than 360foreigners including 12 foreign ambassadors to Vietnam will also join theevent.

Amateur runners canchoose suitable distances ranging from 1.75km to 5.25km, equivalentto one to three laps around Hoan Kiem Lake.

Meanwhile,professional athletes will compete in mandatory distances of 5.25km for womenand 8.75m (five laps) for men.

The organisers willpresent a total prize of 200 million VND (8,600 USD) to high-ranking athletesand teams./.
