Hai wins best goal in AFC champs

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai’s goalagainst Uzbekistan in the final of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23Championship was voted the best goal of the tournament by fans on the AFCwebsite.

Voters could choose between 10 goals scored during the tournament whichfinished in China on January 27, with Vietnam losing to Uzbekistan 2-1 afterextra-time.

After four days, there were a total of 218,915 votes for the 10 goals, with Hai’sfree kick against Uzbekistan receiving 139,704 votes, 64 per cent of the totalvotes.

Hai’s strike from distance against Qatar in the semi-final received 53,970votes, accounting for 25 percent to rank second.

ꦚ Twenty-year-old Hai has been hailed as the hero of the Vietnamese team at theAFC event. He scored five goals, only behind Almoez Ali of Qatar, whoscored six.-VNA
