Hanoi celebrates Theravada Buddhists’ robe-offering festival

The ceremony, spanning October 18-19, is one of the official traditionrituals of Theravada Buddhism, during which Buddhist followers donatenew robes to the monks with a hope that both devotees and recipientswill gain merits.
The event is expected to drawthousands participants, including Buddhists monks, nuns and followersacross the nation, ambassadors of ASEAN countries, and Lao and Cambodianstudents in Hanoi.
It aims to improve the cultural and spiritual life of Buddhist followers and strengthen their solidarity.
The festival also offers a prime opportunity to introduce the Buddhistculture and the religious life in Vietnam to internationalfriends.-VNA

The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.
