Hanoi (VNA) – The Hanoi International Film Festival(HANIFF) has returned after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new context of safe and flexible adaptation to thepandemic makes its 6th edition this year a special one.
The event will feature 80 long and 35 short films, along with programmes introducing Spain's cinema and theRepublic of Korea’s award-winning films, on the occasions of the 45th and 30th anniversaries of Vietnam's diplomatic ties with the two countries, respectively. A programme on contemporary Vietnamesefilms is also on the festival's schedule.
There will be two seminars spotlighting theSpanish silver screen and the production and distribution of films amidCOVID-19.
On the sidelines, attendees will be treated to a market offilm projects and a voiceover contest.
First held in 2010, the festival aims to honour outstanding films of high artistic value and encourage new talents in Vietnamese cinema. It also provides a platform for Vietnamese and foreign movie artists to share their professional expertise. The festival presents a chance for Vietnam to showcase its films to the global film market and promote the nation and its culture to international friends./.

The sixth Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) is scheduled to take place in the fourth quarter of the year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) has said.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.
Eight teams will join the tournament, divided into two groups. Group A features Vietnam, the Philippines, Sichuan Club (China), and Australia, while Group B consists of Vietnam U21, Korabelka Club (Russia), Taiwan (China), and U21 Thailand.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
