Hanoi International Piano Festival begins

The 2018 Hanoi International Piano Festival will begin a week of piano masterclasses, conferences and workshops at the National Academy of Music on August 11.

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) -The 2018 Hanoi International Piano Festival will begin a week of pianomasterclasses, conferences and workshops at the National Academy of Music onAugust 11.

Nearly 50 pianists from Vietnam, Japan, China and its Hong Kong and Taiwan,Malaysia, Thailand, Poland, Canada, the US and Australia will take part in themasterclasses. 

Vietnamese-Canadian pianist Dang Thai Son is the Artistic Director of thefestival and will award 10 scholarships for excellent pianists.

Professors who will provide masterclasses include pianist Son, Prof SusumuAoyagi (Japan), Prof Tai-Cheng Chen (US-Taiwan), Prof Tran Thu Ha (Vietnam) andProf Katzyna Popowa-Zydron (Poland).

Participants will play on Steinway, Yamaha and Kawaii pianos.

Tickets to the performances on August 15 and 17 are on sale at mono prix of 200,000VND at 098-302-6109. One-day masterclass tickets are also available at 230,000VND per ticket.-VNS/VNA
