The event was jointly held by the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association and the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam.
It aims to commemorate the national hero’s contributions to theVietnam-Cuba relations as well as to strengthen the time-honouredfriendship and solidarity between the two countries, said Vice Chairmanof the association Tran Trong Hanh.
AmbassadorHerminio Lopez Diaz stated that Cuba, in the update of its economicmodel, appeals for solidarity of the fraternal Vietnamese people andhopes to learn from the Southeast Asian nation’s economic reformexperience.
Jose Marti, born in January 28, 1853, inHavana , was a prominent thinker and cultural figure, and unyieldingrevolutionary who made significant contributions to Cuba ’s nationalindependence in the late 19th century.
He also laid the foundation for the solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba.-VNA
