Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi’s Department of Tourism on September 8 introduced thecity’s tourism potentials to Swedish travel companies and discussed solutionsto boost bilateral cooperation in this field. TheSwedish travel companies were provided with an insight into Hanoi throughintroductions, documentaries, forms of traditional arts, cuisine art and fact-findingtrips to tourist sites. Duringtheir stay in Hanoi, representatives of the Swedish companies visited Ho ChiMinh Mausoleum, the Temple of Literature and Hanoi’s Old Quarter, which theyevaluated as special destinations.

Directorof the department Tran Duc Hai said the city’s tourism sector want local travelcompanies to cooperate with Swedish partners to explore each other’s markets.

💖 Thedepartment will accompany and create the best conditions to facilitate the tourismcooperation between Hanoi and Swedish travel firms, he stressed.

Statisticsshowed that in 2016, Hanoi welcomed more than 4 million foreign visitors, includingalmost 16,000 Swedish tourists, up 29 percent from the previous year. Hanoihas been named as one of the top 10 attractive destinations in Asia by theTravel and Leisure (the US) and Smart Travel Asia (Hong Kong) Magazines. Inparticular, the travel website Tripadvisor ranked Hanoi second among 10 most attractivedestinations in Asia and one of the world’s 10 most appealing destinations in2015 and 2016.-VNA
